Geordie and Michelle deep dive a confusing Australian true-crime case: Gilham family murders. In 1993 in Woronora, Australia, Stephen and Helen Gilham were stabbed to death, their house was set on fire and their son Christopher was found dead downstairs from multiple stab wounds. Older son, Jeffrey Gilham, claimed he had been sleeping in a boatshed in the back yard before rushing to the house after hearing screams, telling police his brother Christopher confessed to killing their parents before setting their mother’s body on fire. Jeffrey admitted stabbing his brother in a rage and initially pleaded guilty to manslaughter, however, after a few plot twists, prosecutors eventually charged Jeffrey with the murder of his parents as well. But that’s not the end of this true-crime story… Listen now to discover how Jeffrey was eventually released from prison and why his conviction was overturned.
