On the night before Halloween in 1938, New York’s CBS Radio station aired a drama by HG Wells that not only scared the bejesus out of a city, it caused mass hysteria and panic. Yes, we’re talking about War Of The Worlds, that classic tale of a martians invading Earth and taking over our planet. What happened to cause people to panic? Why were police raiding a radio station? And what has Orson Welles got to do with it? You’ll have to listen if you want to know more!

Michelle then talks about three true crime horror stories that will lead you to think monsters are real… When Timothy O’Bryan went trick or treating on Halloween in 1974, he was thrilled to be handed his favourite candy. But things didn’t go well for Timothy… Find out who poisoned the Pixy Stix and why Ronald Clark O’Bryan has been dubbed The Candyman Killer. Michelle then discusses the case of Marvin and Ethel Brandland and what happened to them on Halloween night in 1982 when a trick or treater with a pillowcase over their head knocked on their door. Hint: it didn’t go well. And finally, Michelle wraps up the episode with a Halloween House of Horrors case from 2004 where she asks the question: who killed Leslie Mazzara and Adriane Insogna?
