On the 1st of December, 1987, Philip Spencer (not his real name) went out into the fog on Ilkley Moor in Yorkshire, England, for an early-morning walk. Through the fog, he saw what he initially thought was a child with the long spindly limbs, oval eyes, a large head and strange proportions. On instinct, Philip snapped a picture of the strange child – and then things got weird.
